"Stayed in the Tethera cottage on site which is a converted building, managing to keep that 'rustic' feel to it whilst still providing home comforts. Excellent location between the Dales and the Lake District. Working farm so brilliant for children to see the animals. Neil and Hedda (owners) were fantastic, there if needed but left you alone to do your own thing."

"I have been holidaying in this area for almost 40 years but never ventured into this glorious area of South Lakeland. Perfectly placed for the Lakes, Yorkshire dales and the under estimated coast around Silverdale the cottage provided an excellent level of comfort. It is still a working farm and will have 4 cottages to rent (4th in progress). We stayed at Tethera cottage and Neil and Hedda made us most welcome and this place will be on our list to visit again."

"A beautiful setting, in secluded surroundings. The working farm is a joy and the farm eggs are second to none! Very friendly and welcoming; and especially dog friendly, which was wonderful. All facilities are provided within the cottage and it is very well appointed. Would recommend it highly to those with dogs, looking for a unique rural location."

"A friendly, welcoming, but inobtrusive couple. The cottage is very well supplied with good quality furnishings, everything you need to feel at home is here. Warm, and homely, the master bedroom is all you would hope for in a high quality hotel. With the icing on the cake being the unspoilt views over rolling hills, the cattle, sheep and fowl as your neighbours. Ideally located for both the Lakes and Dales. I will certainly recommend Tethera, and it's accompanying cottages, and plan to return."

"We spent a week in October in Tethera Cottage. The owner and farmer, Neil, made us feel very welcome and gave excellent advice on days out and about. If you want a cottage within walking distance of places, this is not for you. However, if you're looking for a very comfortable, clean, well resourced cottage that is perfectly situated to driving out to either the dales or the lakes then this is for you. The cottage is on a working farm so you may be greeted in the morning by some ducks, hens, cows ( or cow parcels,.,) this only adds to the charm of really being in the countryside. Dogs are allowed to stay at the cottage and are welcome in most places nearby. We will be recommending to friends and would stay again."

"It was a very good barn conversion, comfortable, clean, spacious & kitchen facilities very adequate. The countryside views were a little spoilt by the heap of manure quite close to the front door- I realise it is a working farm but I would imagine in the summer that could be smelly & attract flies ! It was fairly disabled friendly apart from the crumbling stone steps at the front which had no handrail & I found very difficult. Friendly farmer & cows!! We did have a bit of difficulty actually finding the way in to the farm,as it was on a gated road but asked some locals."

"The cottage was very well equiped with a young baby this allowed us to spend very comfortable eveings in. The owners left you to it but were available if you need then and were happy to show you the animals. The area was great with easy access to touist attractions. The cottage is located down a single track lane that isn't very busy but is not ideal if your not confident in driving lanes. Only downside of the cottage is that the outside area could be improved as there is currently anywhere you can site to enjoy the views."
