Just four miles to the east of the popular town of Alnwick is the charming holiday resort of Alnmouth. Popular amongst golfers and those seeking a quiet getaway from hectic modern living, this lovely little village lies on the narrow spit of land between the North Sea and the Rive Aln – originally forming the port for the larger town of Alnwick. Packed with a great variety of pubs, shops and restaurants, the village is now a picturesque destination in its own right and the surrounding landscape is unspoiled. With an excellent links golf course within easy driving distance, great fishing spots and miles of sandy beaches - ideal for bird watching – this is a fantastic destination for anyone who loves fresh air and the outdoors.

"So me and my auntie and family all decided to rent this lovely little cottage for the new year weekend 2018/2019 and we weren't disappointed. It has a lovely kitchen and sitting room with enough space for all 6 of us. The cottage was always warm an cosy. The bedrooms are lovely. The only problem I had was I was stopping in a single bed and the mattress was hurting my back but that maybe because it was soft and I'm used to having a much harder mattress. It is about 5 minutes drive from alnwick but everything about it was beautiful. "

"This cottage is just outside Alnmouth which is a lovely coastal village with pubs, PO, gift shop and deli. The cottage was clean and well equipped. The living space was comfortable with 2 sofas and an armchair. Once you master the log burner (keep the door open whilst lighting it) it's very comfortable for the evening. The kitchen is large and the cupboards have plenty of crockery and pans (frying pans looked a bit well worn so we didn't use them) and cutlery. A small downside is the the property gets virtually no sun. The French doors open on to a shared garden but when we got home in the evening the sun didn't reach the cottage which was a shame. There was only one table in the garden but 3 cottages. Neither of these issues are major but a long G&T in a sunny garden at the end of a day is very enjoyable. Of more concern was the stairs. They do a U Turn halfway up and there is only a handrail on the first section. If you have any mobility issues then you need the security of knowing that the rail goes to the top of the stairs. It should be fixed on the wall side and not on the left as you go up. In the bathroom where the shower is over the bath, there is no grab handle to help you out of the bath. Overall a good cottage and the area is lovely."

"We were greeted on arrival by the owners and told where things were and the nearest local supermarket was for shopping. The cottage was very clean and modern with ample space for everyone with a nice garden at the rear of the property. It's just a shame that the weather wasn't too good so that we could take advantage of this facility."
