Rural Huntingford is a small hamlet that makes an ideal location from which to explore the beautiful country views and many National Trust properties and gardens close by, including Stourhead. One bedroom: 1 x eaves twin. Ground floor bathroom with bath, power shower over, basin and WC. Fitted kitchen. Living area with vaulted beamed ceiling with sitting area, dining area, sofa bed and woodburner. Wide galleried landing overlooking living area.

The Old Chapel was fully re-built in 2008 to replicate the original wooden structure dating back to 1867, and has been featured in the press locally and nationally, on TV's 'Homes Under The Hammer' and in 'Dorset Life' magazine because of its interesting and unusual appearance and interior. This detached former chapel is situated in the peaceful rural hamlet of Huntingford and features a stunning timber-clad interior, with a high beamed, vaulted ceiling and splendid galleried landing overlooking the living area. The whole property has a light, airy and spacious ambience. The accommodation includes one attractive eaves bedroom, a fitted kitchen and bathroom at the rear, and a living area which includes sitting and dining areas and a warming wood burner. The Old Chapel provides fabulous holiday living in a glorious part of the country. Situated in the midst of splendid unspoiled countryside on the borders of Dorset and Wiltshire, Huntingford is also close to the famous attractions of Longleat House and Safari Park with its lions, and the historic hilltop town of Shaftesbury (made famous by the original Hovis advert). The mysterious stone circle of Stonehenge, the stunning cathedral city of Salisbury, Wilton House and Dorset's incredible Jurassic Coast are all a little further afield, but still easily accessible.

"We regularly visited this area when our children were young and wanting to return again, found this delightfully restored chapel just south of the a303. This main road can help you get about quickly, but is not close enough to spoil the peace and quiet. We were made very welcome by John and Jennie Wood to this spacious cottage, which is well equipped and very comfortable. Stourhead is a wonderful garden just north of the main road and for the 'lads' there is The Fleet air arm Museum just half an hour away. Check out the Carrier deck. For Dad, a visit to the extensive Haynes Motor Museum just up the road. Heading to Weymouth with children? On the right of that road is Maiden Castle, an amazing, terraced site of the fort there that it took the Romans to conquer. Our young sons never forgot fighting there, one a Brit, the other a Roman. Things like this bring history to life in young minds. There are so many places to visit in Wiltshire and Dorset, this lovely cottage is a perfect location. Helen and Stephen Wright"

"We really had a great time. The property looks modest from the outside but the attention to detail inside was exceptional. The owners did their utmost to ensure that our stay was enjoyable and stress-free. I would strongly recommend this property to anyone who wants a get away holiday. We were also prepared to travel further afield to the Dorset coast, Stonehenge and the Fleet air arm Museum. Good food in local pubs."

"The property was lovely. Welcoming scones and jam were a real treat. The TV could do with updating, but a minor point. The bedroom has twin beds and the bathroom is downstairs, something to bear in mind if it will bother you! Overall a very pleasant stay in a novel property."

"Exactly as the photos show on Sykes website, it is a spacious, well furnished cottage for two. Less than a year since it was completely rebuilt, it forms a good base for walkers, visits to one of the best landscape gardens in England and close to Shaftesbury and Salisbury. Owners very friendly, live across road and take pride in their unique property. Highly recommended for a quiet week."

"We were very delighted with this property and the careful attention to detail in making it very user friendly. The owners were very helpful, welcoming and considerate and we were so please with the privacy and quiet of the position of the house. It was also very delightfully easy to access from London and the return trip only took us two hours. Such a wonderful contrast between rural Dorset and the bustle and fumes of London"
