"We had a wonderful week at Sheoherds Lodge. The accommodation was perfectly prepared. The welcome from Helen warm and friendly. Everything had been thought of. Cottage sparkling clean. Cosy and beautifully lit. Highly recommend this cottage. In the wilder part of the dales. Spectacular scenery and loads to walk to and enjoy."

"My husband and I cant rave about this cottage enough. We flew in from Florida totally exhausted on a cold winter day, as soon as we stepped foot into this marvelous cottage we were HOME! it was so warm and inviting and Helen, the owner, was beyond courteous and lovely. It began snowing the next day and she drove us into Richmond so we'd not be stuck in the cottage all day so we had a lovely day out at Richmond. I got the pleasure of making a snowman with her children who were lovely. Helen and her husband made us feel like family. My hubby and I have stayed at MANY cottages in Britain and I have to rate this as an absolute hands down winner. The cottage has every amenity you could wish for. The North Yorkshire Dales are so incredibly wild and beautiful. Only downside was having to leave. We will be back and this cottage will be where we stay again. We felt like we were living in a Fairy tail. Sorry, I could go on for hours about this crazy beautiful area and this cottage but be assured, you'll not be disappointed. This has convinced my husband and I that we actually want to eventually move permanently to the North Yorkshire Dales! My husband is from Yorkshire and has never been to this area, he was astounded at it's beauty as well. A MILLION thumbs up to Shepherds Lodge, Helen , her husband Roger and her wonderful children."

"We had a wonderful holiday in Shepherds Lodge. After recently staying in a cottage which had been badly maintained, it was a total delight to walk into Shepherds Lodge and find it so clean, beautifully maintained, warm, cosy and everything you could need close at hand. It was so lovely, we were more than content to spend the evenings by the log burner, and cook a meal in the delightful, kitchen. The walks in the area are stunning. So many places to visit, and although we visit the Dales regularly, we never tire of the breathtaking scenery. The week always goes way too fast. We have booked our return visit already. Helen is a great host and obviously understands the needs of cottage holidaymakers!"

"Myself, wife and young son stayed at Shepherds lodge in Dec 2015. We've stayed in many rental properties in the UK and it is by far the best. The kitchen in particular was so well stocked with just about every utensil or pan you might need. The decor was modern but tastefully decorated throughout. Helen the owner lives next door and could not have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and she made us feel so welcome during our stay. Some family visited during our stay and were so impressed they're also thinking of booking the cottage in the future! Don't hesitate booking here if you want a peaceful break with plenty of walks from the door."
