"We were worried this cottage would be difficult to reach ,it proved to be in a very convenient location ,less than 2 mins from a B road and 10 mins from Ross on Wye and until almost the farm entrance a wide enough road to allow 2 cars to pass easily, it is on a smallholding more than a farm ,with many footpaths close by. Hideaway has a private garden overlooking a lovely grassed paddock . The cottages are furnished and finished to a high standard . You should be aware that there is a narrow spiral staircase which may present a difficulty for anyone with mobility issues. We enjoyed Zam Zam ,The Man at Ross ( see separate reviews ) . Goodrich castle with its brilliant audio tour .Symonds Yat a beautiful spot but very touristy, lots of lovely walks ."

"This was our first time to this part of England and the property was ideal. Everything was as described and it is a great location for exploring the surrounding area such as Symonds Yat, the Forest of Dean and other places on the River Wye. We went cycling and walking in the area. The owner was very accommodating and all our needs were met. They even ensured we had good weather. Do take heed of the comments in other reviews about the spiral staircase and we were able to use the owner's own wifi which we were grateful for."

"This property has it all. Well appointed, comfortable accommodation combined with a lovely setting with excellent views from every aspect. The owner greeted us warmly and we were provided with a welcome pack containing local produce. The area is ideal for walkers or for exploring the area by car. I cannot think of a single way this property could be improved. However the spiral staircase to the bedroom could present problems to less mobile visitors."

"Howle Hideaway is a real gem hidden in the depth's of the Herefordshire countryside. The house has been beautifully decorated throughout to a very high standard and was a real 'cosy' place to stay as a couple. The property had a very large open plan lounge and kitchen with the bedroom on the first floor (via a quite tight spiral staircase). The owners of the property were very helpful and were willing to help out when we encountered problems with the weather (it snowed very heavily when we were there). There is also a lovely pub about a mile away which does grea food. All in all a great little hideaway for a romantic getaway from it all!"
