"Cottage was very clean and comfortable and in a good location. Well equipped. Plenty of room. Peaceful setting. However, we were upset that a dog was chained up almost 24/7 in the next door neighbour's garden. Whilst we were there he was given little attention and no exercise. He clearly wanted affection and wimpered when he saw us in the garden. Although the owner assured us that the dog was being cared for we were not convinced and have reported this to the RSPCA."

"We had stayed in a Sykes Cottages propoerty previously, in Scotland, and were disappointed, but had no complaints about Minffordd. The setting, in a picturesque valley with Craig yr Aderyn on one side and Cadair Idris on the other, was perfect, The cottage is a well-renovated old end-of-terrace with lots of character, and good facilities. There is on-site parking for a single small car, and pets are allowed, and can wander around the garden (finding a sheep in the garden was a surprise one morning, though - hopefully the hole in the back fence is now fixed!) The local caretakers of the property were quick to respond when we reported a couple of problems, and the next door neighbours were very friendly too.As an added bonus, look out for the jam and cake stall a hundred metres down the road. The lack of a mobile phone signal or any data network at all was the only real disadvantage. Providing a little more information for new visitors is our only other improvement suggestion: it would be good if Sykes' compiled a standard list of things that renters like to know, and then each cottage could have its own version of this completed, courtesy of the caretakers, and left as a welcome for new renters. So, in summary, we would highly recommend this cottage."
