This quirky studio cottage sleeps two people in one room, a mile from Bassenthwaite. All ground floor. Open plan studio accommodation with double bed, kitchen, dining area and sitting area. Shower room with shower, basin and WC. Shared games room with pool table, table tennis and table football.
Randel is a romantic studio cottage in a small group a mile from Bassenthwaite. The cottage has a double bed in the open plan living area, along with a kitchen, dining table and sitting area. There is also a separate shower room. Outside is off road parking and shared grounds including a games room. Randel makes an ideal base for couples to explore the Lakes, try watersports or enjoy good walking. Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

Shop 1.5 miles, pub 1 mile. Note: Private water and drainage supply. Note: No infants or children.

Situated just a short distance to the north east of Bassenthwaite Lake is the attractive village of Bassenthwaite itself. This charming settlement retains its traditional, rural feel and boasts a stream which winds through the outskirts of the village in addition to whitewashed Lakeland cottages, a well-maintained green and a real ale inn, full of character. Bassenthwaite Lake offers rolling hillside scenery and remains one of the most picturesque places in England. Points of interest nearby include Mirehouse - a grand home and gardens on the shores of the Lake - Trotters Farm, and Dodd Wood. Most of the attractions of the wider region are within easy driving distance whilst the quieter Northern Fells are almost on the doorstep. The towns of Cockermouth and Keswick and close by and both host weekly markets and a good range of other amenities.

"My husband and I stayed at Randel Cottage during October half term this year. Upon arrival, the cottage exceeded expectations and we were so pleased with what we found: the owners had left us cake, biscuits and milk in the fridge, they had put the heating on ready and there was a beautiful heart light above the bed that was switched on to greet us! The bathroom was nice, with an easy to use shower and continuous hot water. The kitchen had all the facilities you might need. The living area had a very comfortable bed, a sofa with a TV (has freeview and a video and dvd player) and there's a wardrobe and drawers/cupboard, so plenty of storage space. There's nothing I disliked about Randel Cottage, although don't expect much phone signal! I had a little but it was quite patchy. From the cottage, it was about a 10 minute drive into Keswick. I would certainly stay at Randel again and recommend it to others!"
