Outside there is roadside parking and a small outdoor area with furniture. Hillrise Barn is an ideal retreat for a couple who wish to explore Flookburgh, Cartmel, Holker Hall and Grange over Sands. Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

The historic village of Flookburgh is situated near the shores of Morecambe Bay on the outskirts of the Lake District. The village offers two pubs, a grocery, a chemist, butchers, a Post Office and two food outlets.

"Our accommodation in Hillrise Barn was perfect for our needs. Perfectly clean and comfortably furnished. The layout has been carefully planned and is great for two sharing. However the cottage is seriously let down by its location. The area looks run down and is slightly depressing which is a real shame. It's for this reason we cannot give this cottage 5 stars."
