"Cottage is literally in the middle of nowhere, although there is a mobile home park adjacent. Only one was occupied when we stayed and we never saw them. The cottage is on a working farm but we were never disturbed by anyone or anything. Kendal is about 6 miles away for any food shopping needs. We had a lovely quiet Xmas and felt totally relaxed throughout. The interior is clean and very well appointed with a jacuzzi bath and shower. Plenty of kitchen utensils, pots/pans etc."

"This house is beautiful inside and out! It is great for people who want a home away from home. The roads leading up to Pip's Hideaway are small lanes but the hedgesfencing are quite low so it is easy to see if anything is approaching, there are also lots of lay-bys to pull into. Locals are very friendly. It is decorated well and very spacious throughout. The bedroom and bathroom are on the ground floor, bath was so relaxing! The kitchen and living space has a great atmosphere and is set out well, facilities are good and cleaning products are supplied which is a great touch. I will definitely recommend to our friends and family. Thank you for a lovely break!"

"What a fantastic property, decorated and finished to a high standard. The location was perfect for us, quiet with beautiful scenery. The attention to detail was great, along with the little extras such as a newspaper, flowers, a pint of milk and Kendal mint cake on arrival. The jacuzzi bath was heavenly and the garden was a little sun trap."

"Everything about our stay at pips hideaway was lovely, from the little touches like fresh flowers to a handy pint of milk in the fridge. We booked through Sykes and the process was easy, the directions provided were great and we arrived at the property without getting lost. On arrival the location was picturesque and very quiet which is just what we needed. The interior of the cottage is of high standard throughout and completely modern with all the gadgets we needed for example wifi and a stereo system to dock our iPods! We had everything we needed for a week away and the great selection of books on the lake district were really helpful when we wanted to venture out. I would highly recommend this cottage to all my family and friends, the owner even kindly posted my hair straighteners back to me after I left them in the cottage. Thank you"
