The coastal village of Robin Hood's Bay is situated between Scarborough and Whitby on the Yorkshire coastline. It has narrow cobbled streets and charming fisherman's cottages all intertwined with the alleyways and fitted into the nooks and crannies of the village. The backdrop to this fishing village is stunning with dramatic cliffs and moorland scenery at the edge of a wide sweeping bay. The beach and cliffs offer some tremendous walks, and various footpaths and trails pass through the area, the Lyke Wake Walk and the Cleveland Way being two of the most popular. The amenities in the village are excellent, and there are attractions for all interests and ages. Robin Hood's Bay is a superb base for an enjoyable holiday in this fabulous area.

"Lovely sized rooms with utility room and use of washing machine and dryer. Large fridge and lots of items in kitchen to use. Would be great if downstairs bath/ shower was suitable for those with physical disabilities. We had to lift someone in and out so they could use it and the shower upstairs was too small for them with no seats for themselves to use to sit and wash themselves. Quiet and lovely location with modern fittings throughout"

"Even though the weather was a wash out, the cottage was a nice base to return to following local walks. Very spacious with a separate dining area. Kitchen was well equipped and the welcome wine and milk were well received. Only issues we had were the lack of loo roll and the fact that both showers could not be used at the same time (would of been nice to have been mentioned in folder) "

"This was a fantastic cottage to stay in and one of the best my family have stayed in. Huge living room area and lovely kitchen for cooking in with breakfast table which is also quite handy for evening meals. Four bedrooms over three levels with three master bedrooms one which had twin beds, one with an en suite shower. and a children's bedroom with twin beds. Also a dining area at the front of the house ideal for Sunday Dinner. Great location for going into Robin Hood bay and Whitby. Only downside was WIFI could have been better but this is because it was on a very low channel and with a little tweaking to a better channel would be much improved."

"Myself and 6 friends stayed for 3 nights. It is in quite a remote spot with lovely views at the top of a very steep hill. It should be pointed out that the top two bedrooms are unsuitable for adults as the ceilings are very low . You have to walk down 2 flights of stairs to get to a toilet. It was well stocked with crockery, pans, dishes and the dish washer was most welcome. What wasn't welcome was how dirty and stained the mattresses and quilts were , the blinds were thick of dust and there were a lot of cobwebs in the living room and dining room. The toilet seat was broken and the "back garden" was just a damp overgrown mess. This is a nice property but there are a lot of things that need renewing and a deep clean should have been completed before the start of the season."

"Had a fab 3 nights in this lovely cottage.fantastic views but quite a long walk down to robin hoods bay down a few steep hills.thank god for local taxi cab.the cottage was spatious and top clean needed a good clean blinds layered with dust cobwebs here and there metal bed frame thick of dust quilt cover stained mattress in top room stained no hand soap in any toilets or bathrooms not 4 star accomdation. We payed a lot of money for three nights so feel they could have made more effort to get the place up to standard fit us going in.apart from that good self catering facilities shame housekeeping let them down."

"The cottage is in a quiet, peaceful location, just the occasional walker passing by. Good points: Cottage has plenty of space with good sized rooms. Nice touches like a welcome pack eg bottle of wine and milk etc Very quiet area with sea views Smart TV but we couldn't link to the Internet for catch-up etc Public footpaths very nearby (a path passes right in front of the cottage), so easy to have lovely country walks. There is a path which takes you down the hill to the beach in Robin Hoods Bay in about 15-20 minutes. Good sized fridge and freezer Comfortable beds Not so good: Pool table needs mending but is level and fine for kids to have a go on. The cloth is torn in one place and one of the cushions is partly detached so ball doesn't bounce off it with pace. The shower over the bath cannot be used when standing as there is no curtain or holder for the shower head. This could be a problem for people who can't kneel or sit in the bath. There is no toilet on the top floor where two of the bedrooms are situated One top floor bedroom does not have any bedside lights. Large/wide cars would find it difficult to park through the arches to the undercover area. making it only (realistically) parking for two cars outside. Some plates/dishes are not for suitable for the microwave as they absorb the microwaves and become very hot - care needed The quilts are super warm 13.5 Tog - nice in winter but way too warm for September when we visited. Overall a very nice, comfortable cottage in a beautiful area."

"We stayed at Peat House for a weekend with friends with young children and it was lovely. The house was spacious and very clean and had a very well equipped kitchen. The bedrooms were really comfy and the kids loved the enormous twin rooms on the third floor. The pool table was a real bonus too although could do with being in the dining room so that there's more room to manoeuvre the cues! The location was perfect for us, only 5 or so minutes in the car from Robin Hood Bay and the sea views spectacular from the top bedroom. On arrival we found milk, teabags and wine which was great. Only having a shower in the en suite was a bit inconvenient but if the downstairs shower hose in the bath could be attached to the wall and a shower curtain put up, it would be the perfect holiday home!"
