"Hired the house for the last week. The views are truely stunning of the river and surrounding scenery. Great house with first floor dining room, laundry room, kitchen and toilet. 2nd floor, living room, bedroom and master bathroom, 3rd floor 2 bedrooms, 1 ensuite, 1 small bathroom, 4 floor 2 bedrooms. Beds were comfy but everywhere just needed a really good clean. I understand its a large traditional house but it could do with a little face-lift. The sofas were beyond smelly and again needed either a really deep clean or replacing. The house really keeps it's heat so lovely and warm. Fanastic location as everything is within walking distance. Really ace house just could have some improvements. "

"PROS This house is certainly in a great location with lots of cafes, restaurants and activities close by. Lovely to lay in bed at night and hear the River Dee crashing past along with the sound of the steam trains during the day. The owners have clearly made lots of effort with the property with some lovely bedrooms and new kitchen units etc. There was a problem with the Sky TV but the owners did fix it within a few days which we appreciated. Lovely to have an enclosed secure courtyard so the dog could go out safely. CONS To get a top level rating there are a few things they would need to think about which would be frustratingly cheap and easy to fix and would make such a difference such as a new ironing board (the one there is so mucky and ripped you would not want to put your clothes on it). It would also be nice to have a display of leaflets for attractions in the area and a Visitors' Book readily available whilst at the moment there is just a cupboard with lots of leaflets thrown in which looks very uninviting as do the handwritten signs sellotaped to the walls and peeling off. Some new sofas might be nice - we were a small party so we didn't need to use them all and could just pick the best but if there were 10 of you seated then a few of you would be very uncomfortable (they are not the sofas shown in the property photos). There are 4 bathrooms but only 2 have showers (one being in the ensuite) so for a party of 5 couples this would be a pain. Maybe need some over the bath showers installed ? No hairdryer so bring your own otherwise you have to go buy one like I did. Handy Hint - if you are visiting with a group ask for more than one key ! We did not and it was a bit of a logistical issue making sure there was always one of us around and as the door locks as you close it we were in constant fear of leaving the one key inside. The complaints above are really niggles and things which would make a lovely property fantastic. Do not let them stop you booking ... just bear them in mind."

"We went back to Leahurst for Christmas this year hoping it would be as good as last year. It was. I'm definitely in love with this five-bedroom townhouse overlooking the River Dee. We walked into town for coffee, cycled and walked the towpath of the Llangollen Canal behind the house, ate big family dinners at the huge table in the dining room, watched the world go by from the first-storey sitting room. A great place for a family to share time together but have room to avoid getting under each other's feet."

"We were looking for somewhere for three generations of family to stay. Elderly parents, brother and sister with spouses, daughters/nieces with partners. This was the perfect place. We all adored the house - it was comfortable, had loads of character, plenty of space and the most amazing view from the sitting room and master bedroom. Llangollen is gorgeous and had plenty to offer us. The canal was right behind the house - great for walking the dog, walking us, cycling. The river in front was in spate and magnificent. The railway station was between us and the river with the steam train doing 'Mince Pie Special' trips (that's the only train that runs). The town was just across the bridge, so easy for the elderly parents to walk to one of the many coffee shops. The house was decked out in Christmas decorations complete with tree that really fitted the Victorian building. Huge dining room table for the Christmas dinner. Well-fitted kitchen with range-style cooker, fridge, freezer, dishwasher. We'd all love to go again."
