"The furnishings were very dated and tired with a rather unpleasant smell in the downstairs rooms. The bed linen and duvets had seen better days, very cheap and worn. It was unusual not to have anywhere to hang coats in the hallway, especially with the wet weather in that area. The front bedrooms are affected by the road noise, however the backrooms are fine although the window openings leave a lot to be desired...... The location was not ideal for walking or for eating out, you would have to drive a distance to find a pub that served food. On the plus side Leabrooks fish bar, a very short walk away, served beautiful fish and chips. That aside the owner, who lives next door, was very friendly and did check we were ok."

"This is the third time that we have stayed here, and it never fails to please. Its spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The house is always clean and wonderfully presented whenever we arrive. It's an ideal base for anywhere in the Peak District, Yorkshire and anywhere else that you may wish to visit, and is an affordable place to stay without scrimping on facilities."

"due various things, I forgot week I had booked but the owner and Sykes rebooked me at no cost and no hassle. Not what I had expected from business these days. Found it easily but the entrance is easy to miss and went past it a few times. Had a warm welcome. Off road parking good. Nice kitchen and great country views from the dining room. Lounge comfortable and cosy. Good size bedrooms with very comfortable beds. Basin in bathroom was small but good bath and shower. Lovely garden and conservatory for peace and quiet. Can hear the whistle from the steam railway nearby. Convenient access to main roads and motorway to get about. All the main supermakets convenient."

"On arriving, the house was spotless and welcoming. There is a large back garden to take advantage of and the views out the back are lovely. Sightseeing in the area is easy as motorway and rural roads are very easy to access. It's a great place to stay!"
