"We have just returned from a trip in Footway cottage. We went on the polar express which was great. The cottage is home from home with everything you need and more. The owner Norma is great, friendly and makes your stay very welcoming. The views from the cottage was fantastic. Had a great stay in this very lovely cottage. Highly recommend it. We was 2 adults and 1 child."

"We have just returned from our second visit to Footway and it really is just a joy to stay there. The cottage is very comfortable, well equipped, cosy, in a lovely quiet area yet close to Stanhope and dog friendly which is very important to us. The owners Norma and David are lovely people and nothing is a trouble to them. We would highly recommend this cottage."

"We once again stayed at Footway Cottage, it never disappoints, lovely relaxed break over New Year, great welcome pack, even a Xmas reindeer for our little girl! We shall return later on in the year!"

"We stayed in Footway Cottage for a week in Febuary. We had a wonderful stay, the welcome pack was very good, and even included a crayoning book for our little girl! The rooms are very good, very clean and nice and warm as it was very cold when we stayed. The location is superb, 5 minute drive into Stanhope. The view to the front is great with rolling fields and a stream winding down the hill. To the back is decking and views over the hills, would be great in the summer. The owner Norma was fantastic, even though we never met her ,the communication was great and even sent our child's book back by post which was left in error with a lovely letter telling my little girl that postman pat has sent it back to her! Overall I would give it 9/10, it would have got 10/10 if there was broadband as it would have been handy picking up emails etc, but that is being picky! We shall certainly being going back this year to this hidden little gem as we have family up there, fantastic!"

"We had a nice stay in the lovely cottage. The Stanhope Show was good, and there are plenty of places to visit. Local pubs and Restaurants were also very pleasant."

"We was moved to Footway cottage after moving from the holiday cottage the we originally booked ( which was unfit for us to stay in) We was so pleased we had to move as this cottage was perfect, beautifully clean and in a fantastic location. On arrival we was welcomed by Norma, the owner. She showed us around and told us what we would need to know. Their was a lovely welcome pack, milk, coffee, tea, sugar, breakfast cereal and she had even brought our son some chocolate, so very thoughtful. We had an amazing few days. We visited, Beamish, Carlisle Castle, Barnard Castle and other local places of interest. The only downside was we didn't have long enough there. We will definitely go back next year. Thank you David & Norma."
