Shop and pub 2 mins walk. Note: Property is 25 yards from high street, there maybe some road noise during busy times.

The pretty Pennine village of Middleton-In-Teesdale lies in the heart of Teesdale, perched on the riverbank in the beautiful Tees Valley. Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this is a well-served little settlement and offers a good range of shops, pubs and places to eat. For more specialist amenities, the market town of Barnard Castle is within easy driving distance and provides everything a visitor could possibly need. The surrounding countryside is full of excellent walking opportunities through high, open moorland and pretty wooded valleys. Nearby are the waterfalls of High Force and Cauldron Snout, which are often considered to be amongst the most spectacular sights in the district.

"Just back from a long weekend in Gentiana Cottage. We found it to be a lovely cottage in the heart of the village. The property is a real home from home and has all you are likely to need for a break away. Wifi would have been a nice addition as phone and internet signal are not great on some networks. But that is just a suggestion. We would stay again. The parking is on street but we had no problem getting a space during our stay. Darker curtains in the main bedroom would be nice as the daylight comes in and the street light is directly outside the window and lights up the room through the night. But other than that enjoyed our stay and would stay again."
"We stayed here over the May Day Bank Holiday and had a wonderful time. The cottage is ideally situated with good on street parking directly outside the cottage and everything in the village in walking distance no more than a couple of minutes to everything. Everything you need is in the cottage and has a very comfortable king bed in the main bedroom with ensuite bathroom and comfortable twin room and a further bathroom upstairs. Everything was spotlessly clean and Janette the housekeeper was extremely helpful. Middleton is a great place to stay with lots of good days out to be had in this area, fantastic fish and chip shop and excellent meal had in the Brunswick Arms hotel on the Saturday night. Highly recommend this cottage."
