There are several golf courses including The Royal Troon close to the village. "My wife and I have recently returned from this wonderful property having spent a week taking in the calmness of the surroundings. The three-quarter of a mile drive in from the lane gives you an idea how quiet and remote this place is. The property in itself is truly wonderful. Nothing has been left to chance here. Every little detail has been well thought out. The home made goodies in the welcome pack on arrival was very much appreciated and very nice. We saw Deer and a Hare while we were there as well as the cattle in the fields. The owners, Linda and Bob were a very nice couple and were on hand if needed. This is a very nice location to visit other places in the area or just chill out and relax in The Barn. We would have no hesitation in recommending this beautiful property."

"This property is truly well worth the cost, it is in a good location for many of the attractions of South West Scotland, Ayrshire and the Isle of Arran. The location of the property is somewhat secluded down a track but it is such a tranquil location surrounded by fields and the River Ayr. The owners Linda and Bob Forbes live on site but apart from the most friendliest of greetings you seldom see them but they are always available if required. The Barn is extremely comfortable, it is in superb condition with all the modern appliances one would require, there is Wifi which is reliable and adequate for most peoples needs ( you are, after all , on holiday !) The family bathroom and en-suite are very spacious both having large walk in showers with a powerful water flow. On arrival you will find Linda and Bob have provided a jar of homemade marmalade, a home made loaf, eggs, fruit and milk for you to have as they say " breakfast on them" We would not hesitate to return and neither would our dog Molly who loved the place even though she was wary of the cows that are in some of the fields. So if you are looking for a holiday cottage in this area then The Barn should be your number one choice. There is also another property on the site, The Stables , which from what the occupants told us is just as well appointed as The Barn."

"The Barn at Daldorch is an idyllic place to stay when visiting Ayrshire. It is quite comfortable and the amenities are top-notch. The hosts could not be more gracious and friendly. The views around the Barn at Doldorch are gorgeous. The River Ayr runs nearby and the flowing water can be heard through the copse that forms the edge of the property. In the front are hedge-bordered fields with grazing livestock, fat pheasants, soaring eagles and several other wild birds for visitors to watch."

"This was our 2nd visit here, & we were pleased to stay again. Everything in or around the cottage is of superb quality, all of which adds to your comfort. Seclusion is a big bonus here, but shops, restaurants & takeaway outlets are all within 10 minutes. Ayr with it's large shops other attractions is about 20 minutes away. Troon & Turnberry are easily reached from here, so for us golfers "The Barn" is a great base."

"The cottage was excellent and the owner very helpful but un- intrusive. All of the furniture and fittings were quality, spotlessly clean and worked as intended. The cottage is 50 yards from the river, with a footpath leading both. up and down stream. My wife, I and our Grandson would certainly recommend this cottage"

"A wonderful cottage in an exceptional location. Well off the main roads this is a quiet spot in which to stay. Excellent facilities in a very well maintained cottage. A private garden. Close to the River ayr path. Good jumping off point for all things ayr. And if you're into Burns this is the right place to be."

"This cottage holiday could suit everyone. A romantic break in the countryside for young or old. Beautifully equipped with lots of homely touches. Very clean and up to date - recycling encouraged, didn't seem to lack anything. Access to 40 miles of riverside walks - fishing can be arranged through the owner. The enclosed garden has seating area and lovely views. My teenagers loved the countryside and it's not far from the coastal town of ayr. There are good tourist attractions nearby, Castles, beaches, islands and the town itself has all the amenities you would want. A car is essential as the cottage is situated in a rural area a short drive from town. We all loved it so much and will return in the future. This was affordable luxury and a real treat. Once again can't thank the owner's enough for all the small touches that made this so special."

"Stayed here the first week of June to visit family near by. Property is beautiful kitchen, living room and bathroom are to a very high standard. Very clean and we also received a lovely welcome pack which was a great surprise as we traveled from Norfolk. Area and views were stunning and a nice walks to take by the river. Garden and BBQ area was prefect for a sunny afternoon. The property was very large and was a great size with all five of us staying, the owners were lovely and very kind. I would recommend this to others and would stay again in the future as it felt like a home from home."

"The Barn far exceeded our expectations. 5 star finish & fittings. Very clean, comfortable & peaceful. A lovely welcome from the owner & then left alone but there if we had needed them, which we didn't. The welcome tray was a lovely touch and a nice surprise. Location was excellent, very tranquil but not far from all required amenities. We only stayed a few days and have family living close by which was the reason for our visit but if we had been on holiday and doing the tourist thing then the Barn would be a delight to come home to at the end of the day. We have no problem recommending the Barn to friends and family & no doubt we will use it again in the future."

"What a beautiful cottage. Set in idylic surroundings, The Barn is just perfect as a base for exploring the surrounding attractions and wonderful scenery. A real home from home with everything to hand, we settled in immediately. I was visitng Ayrshire with my elderly parents and the cottage was immaculate when we arrived. We were met by the owners who were extremely friendly and helpful. Mind you, despite living next door, we didn't see them again until just before we left! They were there however if we'd needed anything - which we didn't. Lots to see in the area and a pleasure to return to the tranquility of The Barn with its enclosed garden, flatscreen TVs and Wi-Fi. Glass of wine inside or out, depending on the weather. What more could you possibly want???"

"We loved our stay in The Barn at Daldorch! The barn is a delight to behold. Bathrooms & kitchen are superb, whilst the bedrooms & lounge are extremely comfortable. The quality of all fixtures & fittings make the Barn a real home from home. The location is very tranquil & secluded, though everything you need is close at hand. Bar meals, take aways & shopping are barely 10 minutes away. Ayrshire & Ayr itself are easily accessable from the Barn. We saw the lovely owners occasionally, but we were left as much to ourselves as we wanted to be. We arrived to find a comprehensive pack in the kitchen, so don't worry about your first breakfast. It's on the house"

"First impression - wow! Having stayed there for 3 days - Idyllic! Knowing it was recently refurbished for holiday lets, we expected it to be fresh and clean but were blown away by how luxurious it felt. The quality is on par with a good quality hotel but the finishing touches give it a lovely homely feel. The rooms are spacious and there is a lovely fenced garden area which our toddler enjoyed running around. The kitchen is the best equipped I have ever seen in a holiday let and the generous welcome pack let us settle straight in without wondering where to get the basics. The setting is beautiful too, set in a valley between farmland and forest. It feels remote as, apart from the owners house, there are no other properties in sight. However, within a few minutes, you can be on a main road on your way to the many attractions in the area. Really loved this place and the friendly owners really seem to have thought of everything."
