The location of Eden House is shown on the map to the right. You can get directions, zoom and different options using the tools on the map.

Positioned on a hill overlooking Morecambe Bay is the small village of Bardsea. This remote settlement grew from a small fishing village and farming area to become a major transportation link for coal, iron ore and corn. Today, Bardsea still retains its fishing heritage, and features two pubs, both of which serve fine ales and good food. The village itself is located close to Furness Abbey, whilst the market town of Ulverston is just two miles away, and maintains its street market tradition, hosting one every Thursday and Saturday throughout the year. Ulverston is also the location for many festivals including an amazing lantern procession in November and a Dickensian weekend in early December. With all the attractions of the Lake District National Park within easy driving distance, and the sandy beaches of the Furness coast close by, this peaceful spot has plenty to offer.

"We booked the property for a family birthday. The actual property doesn't resemble the pictures. The layout is completely different to what we were expecting and the decor is a little less modern than perhaps advertised. That being said the property is still lovely. It's set in its own grounds. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need and ended up being where we all congregated anyway. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The numerous bathrooms and toilets were so handy. The sitting room was especially cosy on a night and we appteciated the little touches that made the property feel more like a home than a rental. The trampoline was a great addition for the kids and the hot tub pleased everybody. The only thing we would suggest would be more lighting on the path between the hot tub and the extension as it did get quite dark on a night. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property. It has so much potential!"

"I do not have one bad thing to say about this place. Our Group 6 adults and 2 children under 4 stayed for a week. And i was very impressed, the bed rooms were nice and comfortable, the living room warm, inviting and spacious. The Kitchen was clean and had everything that you needed. Hub Tub and Sauna were great and in excellent condition. The best part about this place is the location, it feels very isolated with only tow other houses there, but there is a long driveway which is beautiful, and loads of walks to go on, for example the beach is within walking distance and so is a buddist temple."

"We are three generations of family and although this house is brilliant for our party (we were here last year), it is a shame about sharing the grounds with Eden Lodge, because the Lodge residents have to access the grounds via pathways either side of the house and it made the house residents feel a bit vulnerable, especially with the little ones. One of the paths comes very close to our hot tub/sauna area and feels a bit invaded. One evening I went to the bins and on return crossed paths with a gentleman, carrying a drink, going to the hut in the middle of the garden, where we later discovered the other group were meeting. I think perhaps boundries would help. We didn't feel as relaxed as the previous year. Other than that, everyone of us enjoyed this house for a second year."

"Just had a weekend away with the girls and this house was brilliant there were 12 of us and there was plenty of space. It looks like the house has had a bit of a makeover as most of the rooms were neutral unlike the pics. The house is short of nothing with brilliant bathrooms and a fully kitted out kitchen, everyone commented about how comfy their beds were and there was an abundance of towels and bedding. Also you cant forget to mention the hot tub it was great. All in all fantastic stay and would definitely go back. It looks like they are converting the hotel next door into a similar type of thing which will be amaxing as its massive All im all great time was had"

"Visited with a group of friends. Kitchen upstairs was large well equipped ,plenty of seating. Lounge downstairs wasn't very suitable for a large group, seating a mixture of leather and reed sofas / chairs as these were not comfy. Garden overgrown with mixture of balls everywhere. Large plant pots by patio doors filled with cigarette ends ( these were not ours ) Private hot tub not in use until 24 hours after our arrival. We were offered to use the one beside the hotel conservatory,we only used this once as there was a feeling that you were being ' watched' though we did not see anyone in the hotel. We would have liked to book some therapy treatments but were unable to make contact with anyone at the Hotel to book said treatments as the Hotel was all locked up! Not enough garden seating for our large party. The decor of the house was very bright with orange/ red /yellow/ purple/ green an other mixes of wild colours on the walls.I suppose someone likes it. Trip to the Temple was marvellous. We enjoyed our stay but would not go again."

"We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The property was very clean and well kept, the addition of the hot tub and sauna made the whole weekend I would recommend this property to any couple of group of guests. As we had a lovely stay. It is a credit to Sykes cottages as company . Once again thank you Bryan ."
