This charming, end-terraced cottage is set in the village of Tanygrisiau in the Snowdonia National Park and can sleep three people in two bedrooms. Two bedrooms: 1 x double (accessed from one side only), 1 x child's single (suitable for age 2-17 years). Shower room with shower, basin and WC. Open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with woodburner.
Ty Kate is an end-terraced cottage in the village of Tanygrisiau on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. The cottage can sleep three people and has one double bedroom, a child's single and a shower room. There is also an open plan living area with fitted kitchen, dining area and a sitting area with a woodburner. Outside there is parking in a free car park a one minute walk away and a rear patio with garden furniture. With Tanygrisiau Reservoir and Steam Train Station nearby, Ty Kate is a terrific base for your romantic retreat. Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

Fuel, power and starter pack for woodburner inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Parking in free public car park 1 min walk away. Small enclosed terraced patio with furniture. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shops 1.1 miles, pub 8 mins walk. Note: Child's single bed is 5'9" long. Note: There is no room for a cot in the bedrooms. Note: Patio is accessed by 5 steps. Note: This cottage is situated next to a steam railway line, some associated noise maybe heard.

Tanygrisiau was famous for its slate mining, producing a high quality black slate that was used across the world. Its railway station is on the famous Ffestiniog Railway, a narrow gauge railway built to carry slate from the mines down to the sea at Porthmadog, today it is a renowned tourist attraction.

"We fell in love with the place! The cottage is in a quiet, non-touristy area where you could start a hike right from the front door. Mount Snowdon is a short drive away and the steam train station is only a 25 mins walk into town. The cottage itself is cozy and full of everything you'll need. Its perfect."
"We stayed her for 3nights and I have to say..... It's beautiful. We were greeted with a welcome card, wine and chocolates (which we enjoyed next to the log fire ) Perfect location for exploring snowdonia in a quaint little town. The cottage is beautiful and the owners have thought about pretty much everything you could possibly need. We had a wonderful break away here and would recommend to everyone. The cottage is beautiful inside, it reminded me of a gorgeous little dolls house! I really am sad to be home:-("
"Without a doubt, the best cottage I've ever rented. Utterly idyllic, cosy, romantic - GORGEOUSLY fitted out with real taste and perfectly fitting its style. It has been stocked with absolutely everything you could possibly ever need or think of - from nail clippers to flasks, tupperwares, an impressive kitchenware range, books, DVDs, games etc. What really made it stand out though was the fact you got the impression the owners really cared about you having a good time. When we arrived (in the pouring rain and freezing cold!) we found that the fire had already been laid up for us, meaning all we had to do was light it (which was very welcome). They haven't cheaped out in kitting it out - it's all lovely, high quality stuff, even down to the cafetiere. And there was some truly lovely touches, like telling guests they are welcome to take home one of the books if they don't manage to finish it whilst on holiday, or a cross stitch piece if they made one. We truly couldn't praise it enough. For us the absolute icing on the cake was that we were rather delayed in exiting the cottage (due to an inordinate amount of stuff to pack into the car) and the owners didn't hassle us, or make us feel worse than we were already feeling - they kindly went for a spin round the block for half an hour until we were done, which was very gracious of them. It really was brilliant, and was a huge factor in us having a wonderful holiday!"
