The village of Dyffryn Ardudwy quietly nestles between The Rhinogs, part of the Snowdonia Mountains, and the golden beaches of the North Wales coastline. Boasting its own mild climate due to its unusual positioning, and an exciting array of wildlife and birds including soaring buzzards, this village provides good local shops and a good pub. The small town of Harlech is just 4 miles away, dominated by its majestic 13th Century castle which is a World Heritage Site, and the most impressive of all the castles built in North Wales by Edward I. Popular with golfers due to its famous Royal St. David's course, Harlech also boasts an excellent variety of amenities including some good quality restaurants. Nearby Barmouth offers an amazing Panorama Walk with breathtaking views and also a harbour from which you can enjoy a ferry to Fairbourne for a ride on the miniature railway or a boat trip out to sea to try mackerel fishing.

"Just got back after a fantastic new year at the annexe. Great hide away really peaceful and location with great facilities. Brand new cooker, new freezer box and no electrical issues. Welcome pack really helpful and handy. Commented to Nick that the pictures and write up of the Annexe don't do it justice even at first sight. Will definitely be going back with the dogs later in the years to come. Have been visiting Barmouth and surrounding areas for years and this is one of the better locations need to explore it in the summer."

"A very nice comfortable cottage adjoining the owners house That;s why I said almost on the title as one of our party was kept awake one night by one of the owners dogs in and ajacent room barking off & on all night. The main bedroom is advertised as a king size but it wasn;t, only a standard double The kitchen could do with a dishwasher too There is obviously a fault with the kitchen electrics as if you used the grill, all the lights etc went off and you had to re-set the system. The Wi-Fi signal was weak and kept tripping in and out However enjoyed the week"

"Booked for 3 nights to visit family and see the area. Great location giving easy access to other parts of Snowdonia and North Wales, whilst being in a pretty and seaside location. The local petrol station, post office, and shop provide everything you'd need without travelling too far. Also plenty of places to eat or get a pizza or fish & chip takeaway very close by. The accommodation was immaculate and very comfortable, with every necessity considered to make it homely and provide for a relaxed stay. Plenty of maps and information leaflets on hand to peruse if want ideas on places to visit. The owners, as others have said, are very friendly and helpful, and make you feel so welcome. Off road parking is also a bonus. Definitely intend to return for our next visit to North Wales."

"We stayed at The Annexe from 18th - 23rd August 2017. We comprised a party of 4 adults, 1 12 month old toddler and a dog. The Annexe was spotlessly clean and had all the amenities we needed to cater for ourselves. The owners had kindly left a welcome gift of a bottle of red wine and a bara brith welsh loaf for us to use on our arrival. We were left in peace to our own devices which was greatly appreciated. All in all a lovely place to stay. We would certainly book here again."

"We visited the Annexe two years ago so I decided to do another review after our second stay as sometimes places change or standards slip. In this case we found the cottage to be just as good as before and in fact better with the addition of a new shower room. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The owners are lovely and gave us some beautiful eggs from their chickens. The garden is very pretty and safe for our dogs being enclosed. The beds are very comfortable and everything works perfectly unlike some cottages we have stayed in where the cheapest equipment is provided. It is such a beautiful area. The beach is my favourite spot, gorgeous sand and stunning views across the bay. We are happy to recommend the Annexe."

"My husband, myself and our two teenage children stayed in this lovely cottage which had a great garden and patio. The adjoining paddock with views over the sea and tame sheep was a bonus!. Everything was provided for you to enjoy your stay. The owners were lovely and just allowed you to get on with your holiday. The beds were very comfortable and everywhere was spotlessly clean and very tastefully decorated. OS maps provided were very useful as we did not know the area and made us find a fantastic picnic spot high above Llanbedr. The next road along in the direction of Barmouth called Fford Gors has a lovely wood and river walk ending in a riverside pub!. The local beach was amazing and the nearest town of Barmouth was just a five minute drive away. Mount Snowdon was about an hour and ten minutes drive away and well worth a visit, (although would not recommend walking to the summit on a very wet day, as we found out the hard way!). Overall a fantastic cottage and location. North Wales is a beautiful part of the world."

"The annexe while obviously being an annexe to the main house, is a nice sized property in its own right. Although it is situated on a main road, we did not notice the traffic once in the garden as it was shielded by trees and was very private and pretty to look at. The bed was very comfortable and all the equipment was good quality, including a decent washing machine. The fireplace was a great feature but as it was a very hot week, we did not need to use the log burner. Our dogs loved the cottage and quickly felt at home. They loved walking and going to the beach which is one of the best beaches we have been on, absolutely beautiful. The owners were very nice but left us to enjoy the cottage in peace. We would definitely recommend this one and we have stayed in two or three every year for nearly thirty years. We usually feel ready to go home towards the end of a holiday but we could have stayed here much longer because of the relaxing atmosphere."

"A lovely base for a holiday in North Wales. Easy to get to main attractions. Owners friendly and helpful and cottage provides everything you could need. Highly recommended. The spotty dog was lovely too."

"The owners are very friendly and helpful and the accommodation first class. The annexe is at the rear of the owners cottage with its own entrance and patio. If you are taking a dog there are steps leading from the patio to a paddock where they can be exercised. The location is great with local beaches and situated between Barmouth and Harlech within easy reach or many attractions i.e Portmerion and Betws-y-coed. It is an ideal place to stay for this area of Wales and we hope to return next year."

"there were no pictures on the website when we booked this so we were a little apprehensive but we couldn't have been happier when we arrived, the welcome was warm and some lovely personal touches were waiting when we entered. the annex is well equip t the finish and attention to detail throughout was impressive, having the wood burner in october was lovely it really gives that cosy feel. if there was something we had to pick at it would be the shower, it's definitely not a power shower but there is a bath and it's not something that would stop me recommending the annex. we used the cottage as a base to take our (large) dog out walking and there are some beautiful walks in this area, having a walk along the beach in the morning can't be beat! there is a couple of pubs within walking distance (5-10 min) & a lovely Italian restaurant on the way. having looked at a lot of cottages on the web i think this is great value for money."
