"A lovely cottage close to the beach (@5min walk) and close to Tenby. On a nice day you could easily walk into Tenby along the beach (@20 mins). The house is clean and well presented with a small patio area and easy parking. There is a pub across the road that does food and a surprisingly well stocked local shop! There is no wifi which made our stay very relaxing as none of us could be tempted to work! However, I did get 4G signal on my phone. The property was surprisingly warm even when the heating wasnt on which was great as there was a cold snap and also very quiet. Would definitely recommend if you want a relaxing holiday in a quiet village but really close to all of the action in Tenby."

"Our first impressions were very favourable. The cottage is light and airy and was well cleaned and decorated throughout. However there is no garden, only a patio which needed a good clean. The kitchen diner was well fitted although the door on the dish washer appeared broken as it was very heavy to open. The door did have a large warning sticker though. The sitting room was attractive but only comfortable seating for 4 people and the fire had a large out of order sticker which was a shame as it would of been nice to use in the evening. However the cottage was warm with efficient central heating and hot water. We all found the beds to be uncomfortable, the king bed has a lumpy mattress and the duvet was too small for the bed so virtually no overhang at the sides. The double bed was too soft and has been broken at some point with a temporary repair done. There was no welcome pack of any sort, no guidance as to how things work, rubbish disposal, etc. We found the lack of wifi irritating after a while especially as the 4g kept dropping out. Made planning our days difficult. You will need to take all your own supplies, soap , washing up liquid, toilet rolls etc as nothing apart from two toilet rolls were supplied. There is a handy shop a few minutes walk if you turn right from the cottage. There are two pubs in the village, one is opposite the cottage and if you are early to bed you may find some noise on a few evenings. Parking is good, right outside the cottage door, one allocated space at the back and two visitors spaces as well. There is a beautiful beach a few minutes walk over the golf course and its a nice walk into Tenby, either along the beach at low tide or via the footpath close to the railway track. There appeared to be a good bus service through the village. This is a lovely cottage just needs some attention to sort out the minor repairs and the lack of wifi and uncomfortable beds needs addressing"

"Lovely looking cottage, inside and out, but there were a few issues. There was a lack of WiFi and phone signal (obviously not to the fault of the owner, but would have been good to know in advance), therefore this made it very difficult to communicate with the rest of our group etc., being listed as a "luxury cottage" WiFi would seem to be a standard. The property is also listed as sleeping 6, however it should be stated that it only fits 4 adults and 2 children, as the bunk beds were too small for anyone over around 5'4". In addition, the lounge only seated 4 on the chairs and sofas provided, 5 at a push. There were also a couple of simple items that seemed to be missing that would have been expected, for example; soap in bathrooms/kitchen, information about bins/recycling and general information of the local area e.g. pubs, restaurants and places to go. The information provided in the text message from the owner was limited. One last point of advice to anyone booking this property is that the postcode provided may take you outside of an MOD site, you need only go back across that road and follow on down through to the 20mph zone in Penally to find the property."

"Crown cottage is a pretty property in the heart of Penally village, always well maintained and clean for the money paid. Not much in Penally just a pub across the way from the cottage but we went into Tenby most days to make the most if the beach. The only issue would be there's no garden just a small yard area. Always find the owner very accommodating as we book direct with her, would recommend will go back."

"Perfect location, peaceful surroundings and a lovely holiday. Would recommend wifi installed so that we can easily check weather forecast etc or emails, but that was the only small downside. Everything else was amazing and extremely clean on arrival. Location perfect with views of Caldey Island and a beautiful beach nearby. Will definitely be returning. "

"The cottage is ideal for families, and it is well furnished and decorated in all rooms, but on arrival we found that in the kitchen the cooker was unsuitable for use by its not having been thoroughly cleaned out, the fridge had fungus in it, the floor was dirty and sticky. All bathrooms were in need of a good clean particularly behind the washbasin and w.c. and fungus was visible in both bathrooms. After complaining to the owner a cleaner arrived and carried out the necessary cleaning to the cooker etc, and the bathrooms. It is a shame that the cottage was not cleaned to an acceptable standard considering the overall quality of the property. If the property is cleaned to a satisfactory standard we would recommend this cottage to friends and family."

"We had a lovely time in this cottage. It was clean, warm and comfy. Tenby is a lovely place to visit and there is plenty to do in the area. The pub over the road serves nice meals and has wifi as the cottage unfortunately does not. Everything worked perfectly and it was a home from home. There is building work going on next to the cottage but this didn't disturb us much. There were only two of us but this cottage would suit a family really well."

"A lovely spacious and comfortable family accommodation which has all you need for a seaside holiday. The only thing that would really make it better would be a decent sea view! The kitchen/dining area is big enough to easily accommodate 6 and the three bedrooms are all a good size too. The lounge is comfortable and cosy. A return visit is definitely on the cards!!"

"Booked this cottage for a summer seaside break for myself, my daughter and her partner and their two children. The cottage was converted from a pub (Crown Inn) a couple of years ago but nothing with the house layout or appearance indicates that. The cottage is just the front of the building with attached apartments to the rear but the construction is sound as we heard nothing from our neighbours during the stay. The interior is clean and light throughout with nice and adequate furnishings. The beach is only a short 10 minute walk away and that in itself is a nice quiet sandy beach. For those requiring more beach facilities a short 20 minute easy stroll along the beach will bring you to Tenby a more equipped beach resort. The cottage has a downstairs toilet, a family bathroom upstairs and an en suite shower room to the master bedroom. I did personally find the en suite very narrow and had to step out to give myself sufficient room to dry off. There is ample parking with space for two cars in front of the cottage and a reserved space in a parking area to the rear. Penally itself is a quiet little village but is well served with a pub just across the road from the cottage and a village shop stocking everything you will need just down the road. It is also on a fairly regular bus route so you can explore further afield without worrying about finding parking when you get there. The pub (Cross Inn) is friendly with a decent choice of pub food but booking is essential to guarantee a table (see my separate review for more details). The cottage balcony is very small and can only accommodate the small table and two chairs provided. Also the sea view promised in the web site no longer exists due to a new build alongside which is still to be finished. Most of the disruptive work is complete however so this was not too big an issue for us. For thos visiting this area I would recommend Dinosaur Park if you have children under 5 and Folly farm for the whole farm (again see my separate reviews for more details on these attractions)"

"It was very easy to book the property on-line. The cottage was as good as the description on-line. The cottage is very near to Tenby, within easy walking distance. Local shop two mins away with pub across road. The cottage was a home from home, well presented and very comfortable."

"Crown Cottage appears to have been commissioned at the beginning of 2012 and is newly built; it is backed by, and physically attached to, holiday apartments to the rear of the building (which face the coast) and so the cottage only fronts the village street. It has no garden, as such, but a walled patio opens from the kitchen. We required a holiday rental with a non-shared bathroom/ toilet facilities. The main bedroom has en-suite facilities which are rather small but adequate, whilst the other two bedrooms share a bathroom at the end of the landing. There is also a toilet downstairs. All necessary when a large family is in residence! The kitchen is spacious and well appointed, with dish washer, fan oven, fridge &c.; The sitting room is of medium size but again, well appointed. The standard of cleanliness was very good and one would be hard pressed to find much to criticize with this property - other than the absence of a 'welcome pack' to tell you how everything works. However, information sheets were available as to such things as emergency services, local doctors, dentists and suchlike. The absence of wifi was rather disappointing, a feature usually to be found nowadays at many such establishments. Access to the internet always helps, amongst other things, to plan where to go and what to see in a new locality. Parking is in a private area to the rear. Penally village only has a small general store but is handy for general bits and bobs, such as food, milk, newspapers &c.; Tenby is a little over a mile walking distance from the cottage, either along the beach or by footpath which closely follows the local (and still operational) railway line. There is also a pub, "the Cross", which serves food (although we did not sample this) opposite and seemingly a fairly good bus service through the village. The railway station is also close at hand."
