The riverside town of Witney, mentioned in the Domesday Book, offers many attractions and amenities including a weekly market which dates back to the Middle Ages, a 16th century market square and 18th century town hall, allegedly designed by Sir Christopher Wren. Witney is also home to the Wychwood Brewery. The university city of Oxford, known as 'The City of Dreaming Spires', offers many attractions such as the oldest university teaching room, many museums, botanical gardens and the Bodleian Library. Oxford also plays host to many markets and festivals throughout the year. Blenheim Palace, the ancestral home of Winston Churchill is close by where you can enjoy the landscaped parkland designed by Capability Brown, the great lake and beautiful village of Woodstock.
