The small village of Llanrug is located in the foothills of the Snowdonia Mountain range, consisting of two shops, two pubs, a Post Office, a 9 hole golf course, and a hotel fitted with an indoor swimming pool and fitness room. Fringed by Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris lakes, Llanrud is a central tourist location in the Snowdonia National Park. Walkers are familiar with the area as one of the starting routes for climbing up Snowdon, where you can ascent by foot or on the Snowdonia Mountain Railway. Nearby is the royal town of Caernarfon which is home to a 13th century castle and town walls.
