The historic market town of Ludlow can be found along the River Teme, amidst the countryside of the Welsh Marches. The town offers a fascinating range of architecture, with more than 500 listed buildings and a 900-year-old castle, one of the first stone castles to be built in England. Today the castle hosts a wide range of events including outdoor theatre, food, art and literature festivals. Below the castle, Millenium Green offers a large public riverside green and weir and provides excellent indoor and outdoor dining facilities along the river. Ludlow holds a traditional open-air market in the town square every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday throughout the year. More than forty stalls selling a range of goods including fresh produce, cheeses, books and a selection of local crafts are on offer with the 'Local to Ludlow' produce market some Thursdays and an Antique & Flea market some Sundays.
