The delightful village of Tolpuddle lies deep in the heart of Hardy country, just 8 miles from the bustling market town of Dorchester. Full of character, this village offers a tasteful combination of modern and thatched properties, surrounded by glorious countryside. The lush meadows, watered by the quaintly named 'River Piddle', and the nearby chalk downland provide lovely rural walks. This tranquil village is probably best known for its six famous Martyrs who held the first Trade Union meeting in 1831, and the local museum tells their story.
