Robertsbridge is a scenic village in the ancient county of Sussex. Steeped in history, the village was first established by a group of Cistercian monks from Boxley in Kent, who founded what would become the Abbey of Robertsbridge in the twelfth century. Over the years, the village prospered and now offers a number of shops, pubs and even a railway station with travel links to London and the town of Hastings. The village lies in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a historical landscape filled with ancient woodlands, rolling hills, thriving gill streams and sandstone outcrops, interwoven with numerous medieval walking trails. There are plenty of places to visit near Robertsbridge. The towns of Hastings and Royal Tunbridge Wells are popular destinations for shoppers and culture buffs with a number of boutique and independent shops as well as museums and galleries.
