Heron Cottage is a lovely semi-detached cottage situated in the hamlet of Brydekirk just three and a half miles from Annan in Dumfries and Galloway. The cottage can sleep four people in one king-size double with en-suite shower and one single with a pull-out stacker bed together with a family bathroom. Also in the cottage is a kitchen with dining area and a sitting room with electric fire. Outside is off road parking and roadside parking and garden with furniture and BBQ. Heron Cottage is a delightful cottage and a lovely base for exploring this part of the country. From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain's best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.

The town of Annan, a former harbour, lies on the banks of the River Annan, in East Dumfries and Galloway, and is steeped in history, with the area once the site of Roman camps and the workplace of the writer Thomas Carlyle. Each year, the town celebrates the Riding of the Marches, in honour of the Royal Charter bestowed by King James V, which involves parades, massed pipe bands and competitions.
