The attractive market town of Machynlleth sits at the mouth of the Dyfi Estuary in the heart of the UNESCO Dyfi Bioshere, an area of outstanding natural beauty and diversity. The town offers a good mix of specialist shops, pubs and cafes, in addition to the regular market streets held every Wednesday. There is also two art galleries and a museum of modern arts which displays the work of several international artists.
